Shape control of cathodized germanium oxide nanoparticles

In this paper, hexagonal germanium dioxide (GeO2) nanostructures with different morphologies and sizes were successfully synthesized by a simple fast electrodeposition method. We investigated the electrochemical growth mechanism structural optical properties of products through Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), dispersive X-ray (EDX), diffraction (XRD) cathodoluminescence (CL). The results reveal that electrodeposited GeO2 are pure, dense, highly crystalline. XRD analyses indicate resulting crystals only show peaks related to ?-quartz structure. CL measurements exhibit strong blue green light emissions oxygen vacancies in core crystals. may have potential application integrated devices future.
